Outer style, inner ease
Hayato Salons began with a belief that a good haircut should agree with the person wearing it. The first room opened in New York in 1992. London, on Drury Lane in Covent Garden, carries the same brief: bilingual stylists, Japanese technique, and a finish you can keep.
Training still runs through the New York studio and the London salon, so a cut in one city is recognisable in another. The signature shampoo massage mixes a wash with pressure work developed with a shiatsu master. Lymph around the head and neck is encouraged to move; when a facial massage is added, the face looks less tired.
Stylists with a few years behind them, and graduates who want a stricter standard, can train through Hayato Academy. The point of the school is the same as the point of the chair: technique that travels.
